Actinomycosis involving Antimesenteric Serosa of Upper Jejunum and Omentum

Abstract
|
|
|
Infections caused by Actinomycosis bovis occur infrequently but may present;¢¥ paticularly challanging diagnostic and therapeutic problems.
The leision is typically a granulomatous infection characterized by suppuration and discharge of pus through multiple sinus tracts.
"Sulfur granule" are characteristically found in the purulent discharge and their identification may be valuable aid in diagnosis.
Three pricipal forms of infection are recognized clinically cervicofacial, thoracic, and abdominal. Especially, rare form, abdominal actinomycosis occur secondary to contamination due to periton
itis and operation and the primary involvement is much more rare.
We experienced a patient with abdominal actinomycosis developed after perforated appendicitis
and treated successfully at dept. of surgery St. vincent hospital in Su Won.
